About Hydro Delta Corporation, Maker of HydroHeat Geothermal
As we usher in the millennium, we can take great pride that for the past 25 years, thousands of HydroHeat installations have been keeping owners warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Providing indoor comfort at substantial savings over alternative heating and air conditioning systems is what we at Hydro Delta Corporation do best.

Our employees are dedicated and committed to designing, engineering and building HydroHeat products to the highest standards. This passion to create and build the best geothermal system was clearly demonstrated in 1993 when the opportunity arose for the employees to purchase the business. As an employee owned business, Hydro Delta Corporation has broadened its product line, incorporating many innovative designs with a unique blend of craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.
The process began by consulting with customers, service technicians, and end users, the people behind the names on our database. We were the industry's first manufacturer to custom-insulate our tube-in-tube heat exchangers to prevent condensate from forming on the outer surfaces. We were the first in the industry to provide electric backup heat built into our HydroHeat unit as standard equipment. This provides homeowners with the reassurance that emergency heat is always available.

While geothermal heating and cooling may seem futuristic and a new technology, the basic principle has been in use for nearly 50 years. One of Hydro Delta Corporation's contributions to this technology has been to make servicing the equipment easier than ever by installing diagnostic troubleshooting status lights, another industry first.

Can Do Spirit
Hydro Delta Corporation's can-do spirit has led to many innovations, all aimed at providing proven products that afford the consumer with the ultimate in comfort and maximum energy savings. The HydroHeat Dual Fuel geothermal furnace and air conditioner is another example of the can-do spirit. Inside each HydroHeat Dual Fuel unit is a patented, multipurpose heat exchanger designed by our engineers to transfer geothermal energy or fossil fuel energy to the conditioned space. This unique concept allows the end user to choose between geothermal energy or fossil fuel such as natural gas, propane, or fuel oil, as the primary or backup energy source. Just like the large industrial user, the homeowner has the option of selecting between two energy sources for space heating and domestic water heating: geothermal or fossil fuel. By a simple switch selection for the desired energy provider, the homeowner is provided with insurance against possible shortages, seasonal price increases, or curtailment.
A Step Ahead Of The Rest
Our passion to build the best quality product does not stop with the fit and finish, but includes a desire to provide the ultimate in comfort and performance. Our Mega-Tek series has set new industry standards. The Mega-Tek broke the performance barrier in heating by registering a COP of 4. This means that the Mega-Tek actually produces 4 times more heat output than the energy it consumes. Compare that against a high efficiency gas furnace with an efficiency rating of 90+%. The Mega-Tek has a whopping 400% efficiency rating.
Hailed as the most significant advancement in heating and air conditioning appliances in the last decade, the Mega-Tek has so many energy saving features and technologically advanced components that it is in a class by itself. The HydroHeat Mega-Tek incorporates 5 patents in its components and design, and has set new industry standards, raising the bar for performance and comfort for all other manufacturers. What makes the Mega-Tek so remarkable is that this single appliance is able to serve four (4) different functions: air conditioning and dehumidification, forced air heating, hydronic heating, and domestic water heating. At the heart of the system is a mini-computer that will examine the process inputs at preprogrammed intervals (once every second), and execute the control algorithm for the system output functions. This on-board intelligence ensures that the Mega-Tek will optimize energy savings while detecting any abnormal operation that could cause a system malfunction.

What makes our pioneering heritage most famous, in addition to all this innovation and dedication to quality, is our exclusive, "On-Demand," integrated domestic water heating technology. Hydro Delta Corporation's patented "On-Demand" hot water system is an industry exclusive, offered only on HydroHeat products.

The single most important advantage of the HydroHeat patented "On-Demand" hot water system is its annual operating cost savings over a conventional Desuperheater system. On a national average, a partial water heating system, or Desuperheater, can reduce your electric water heating bill by about 21%, or only $105 of an annual $500 water heating bill as compared to the HydroHeat "On-Demand" system of 60% or $300 per year.

Dedicated Water Heating Wins vs. Desuperheater

Other manufacturers' Desuperheater systems can provide water heating, but only when the system is operating in either the space heating mode or the space cooling mode. By design, partial water heating, or Desuperheater systems, use only a fraction of the heat output of the compressor to heat water. During peak domestic hot water usage, a conventional geothermal heat pump with Desuperheater would have to run continuously for hours to reheat a 54 gallon storage tank. In the dead of winter, if space heating and water heating are operating together, the amount of heat available for space heating is reduced, and the conventional Desuperheater geothermal heat pump unit feels like it is blowing cold air. HydroHeat "On-Demand" water heating means more comfort, greater savings and the convenience of year-round water heating from one self-contained appliance.

Dedicated Water Heating - On Demand Response

When hot water is withdrawn from the water heater during peak usage and there is no demand for space heating or cooling, a partial water heating or Desuperheater system would generate no hot water. The HydroHeat system heats water on demand, 365 days a year.

Dedicated Water Heating - Recovery Time
The HydroHeat patented "On-Demand" water heating system delivers the full output of the compressor for water heating, so the amount of time it takes to heat up a tank of cold water is 4 or 5 times faster than a Desuperheater system, or even an electric water heater. In fact, with the HydroHeat system, there is no need to leave the power turned on to your existing water heater. You can rest assured that you are receiving all the money-saving benefits of the HydroHeat water heating system.

Fabrication And Assembly
The final assembly of all fabricated parts takes place under strict quality control procedures. As a HydroHeat unit passes through each of nine final assembly operations, it is checked by a quality control inspector. Before the unit is completely assembled, the system's refrigerant tubing is brazed and the unit is tested for leaks. A precision leak detecting device, capable of detecting leaks in the refrigerant circuit at a rate of 1/2 ounce per year, is used to perform this operation.

Most manufacturers test their units by momentarily energizing the compressor. Hydro Delta Corporation actually operates each unit under normal conditions for a full 20 minutes. All information regarding performance is recorded on a final assembly quality control log. If the unit does not operate within the parameters set forth for that particular model, it is automatically rejected and sent to a re-work station.

After passing the run test, the finished HydroHeat units are cleaned, packaged and readied for shipment to an extensive network of HydroHeat wholesale distributors across the country.

Quality assurance does not stop with the shipment of each HydroHeat unit. Hydro Delta Corporation's knowledgeable sales and engineering personnel offer technical assistance to our wholesale distributors and dealers.

We are a growing Company made up of working shareholders. Hydro Delta Corporation is built upon the core values of customer-driven quality, delivering environmentally friendly products. The HydroHeat line of geothermal heat pumps has exclusive features and benefits that differentiate it in the marketplace from the "Me Too" ordinary products offered by the rest of the industry.
